The coastal path starts just in front of your hotel |
New for 2005, this 160 mile ride starts with easy cycling north along the Cumbrian coastline, before leaving the Solway Firth to follow the River Eden to Carlisle. From here, the countryside begins to open up as higher land is reached and the Roman remains become more and more frequent, with extensive excavations at Birdoswald. With lovely scenery all around, the route undulates until a good descent to the next Roman fort at Vindolanda. The high point is reached soon after and from there into historic Hexham it flattens out all the way to the end at Tynemouth Priory. more info at www.cycle-routes.org/hadrianscycleway/ |

You've done it!!!

Still the most popular of our routes, we have seen all kinds of people on all kinds of bikes complete this crossing. It is probably the most varied in terms of scenery, with each days ride contrasting with the next to form a route of truly magnificent scenery with plenty to interest the keen sightseer. The sense of achievement at the end is great! Many people do the sea to C2C time after time, introducing new friends to its delights or renewing acquaintances made on previous rides. |

Cycling heaven |
Borderlands in dispute - that's the story behind this ride. The Reivers were local bandits who thought nothing of murder and arson in order to succeed in their thieving raids. You will see fortified farm buildings and churches as well as carefully constructed village squares, whose only accesses are narrow, allowing them to be barricaded against the attackers. The route meanders into Scotland briefly and through the lovely Kielder Forest Park before winding its way through the outskirts of Newcastle to finish at Tynemouth. |

Just look at that view! |
Designed to take in the best of the Lake District, we have been adding to our recommended rides by seeking out some of the more out-of-the-way lanes which are delightful to ride and can be used to link to more well used routes and see more than just the nine lakes. An ideal way to enjoy the pleasures of the National Park. |

Edinburgh Castle |
A two hundred mile route from Newcastle upon Tyne riding north along the coast as far as Berwick on Tweed then turning inland to follow the lovely Tweed valley to a gradual climb over the Moorfoot Hills and a long descent into Edinburgh. |
|
Quiet villages along the way. |
